T-SHAPED LEARNING MODEL

T-SHAPED LEARNING MODEL

Many things are to be considered while equipping us for a career. These aspects are put together in this model at different levels. We need to properly choose a domain where our talents can be converted into opportunities. Hence a T — Shape model is proposed to analyze career goals. At the breadth level knowledge of a particular stream has to be analyzed in detail. At the depth level application of knowledge to the stream should be given importance. If students are able to apply their deeper knowledge to the real-life world, they will end up as successful employees in their field. The combination of breadth and depth makes one a complete professional.

THE IDEAL CAREER PLAN

Ideal Career Plan

The career choices of an individual could be well explained through the Venn-diagram. At the top of anyone’s choice, their area of interest must be given importance. On the first thing, it can be about making experiments; some people may like programming; while the other may be interested in writing; few may like to lead a team; whereas others may like for interaction with others and interested in networking also. These things must be considered at the top.

At the next level, our talents must be considered. Some people may be good at algorithms while others may be good at programming, few may be good at logic and some may have strong acumen for business. Few may be good at financial models. Our interests must be synchronized with our capabilities.

At the next level, one should consider the highest-paid jobs. When it comes to highly-paid jobs, plenty of opportunities are there. Students must be able to synchronize their liking with capabilities so as to achieve the highest-paid job. If a person meticulously does the aforementioned things, he/she will succeed in choosing an ideal career.
